New Mom, Who Dis? Season 1, Episode 5
Ahhh, breastfeeding. It’s the thing about motherhood that’s supposed to come naturally, but does it ever, really?
Between the latching and the milk making, the clogged ducts, and the waking up in a puddle of your own golden goodness, there’s A LOT to figure out when it comes to feeding our babies.
Whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, or exclusively feeding your kids Mac and Cheese – I am not here to judge on this episode of New Mom, Who Dis. I’m just here to answer ALL of your BREASTFEEDING questions about MY TWIN BREASTFEEDING experience with BRUTAL HONESTY.
Because breastfeeding, for me, was NOT EASY. I went back to work full-time when my kids were just 8 weeks old (see: Season 1, Episode 3 ‘Why Balance Is Bullshit’ for THAT insanity) so I really had to build it into my schedule. Every 3 to 4-hours I would pump; be it in the make-up room, the bathroom at Disneyland, I even pumped in the BACK OF A TAXI. (Side note: does the sound of a breast pump haunt your dreams?)
After 14-months of feeding my babies with my circa ‘93 Pam Anderson boobs, my babies weaned ME. Leaving me with nothing more than two fried eggs with nipples on top.
Needless to say, my breastfeeding journey was WILD, and now I want to hear about yours…
Did you pump? Breastfeed? Pump and dump? Let me know in the comments below.
Also, just here to say: BREAST is NOT BEST- FED IS BEST. There is WAY too much pressure on women to breastfeed – do whatever works for you and your baby…and do it proudly. Xo
