New Mom, Who Dis? Season 1, Episode 9
It’s amazing how little sleep I need these days to function. I’m talking five hours of sleep and I’m REFRESHED. With twin babies in the room next door, I take what I can get.
Navigating the sleep schedule of a new baby is HARD. So, in this episode of New Mom, Who Dis? I’m FINALLY sharing ALL of my DEEPEST SECRETS about how I got my kids to sleep.
The short and sweet: When Evan and I took our boys home, we didn’t know what we were doing… It wasn’t until someone DM’d me and asked, “How strict are their nap schedules?” that I thought, “wait, babies need like PROPER NAP SCHEDULES”?
Until then, we just let our twins sleep EVERYWHERE. On us, on the couch, on the coffee table, in the stroller, in the car. Whenever and wherever. So, thank-you kind stranger for asking the REAL questions. Because if it wasn’t for you, I may not have ever figured out that we needed PROFESSIONAL HELP.
The truth: we hired a sleep consultant, plastered the nursery windows with garbage bags, and in the beginning we did use a night nurse a few times a week (which I still feel a bit guilty about).
We took all the help we could get and let me tell you – we’ve come a long way. Now our boys are sleep trained like ROBOTS. I always thought I’d be the cool mom who let her kids stay up until midnight… but now, we are SO rigid about their sleep schedule… if the Pope came by to bless my children during their nap it would be a hard NO.
Friends, your kids WILL eventually sleep. I promise. And I hope this video helps a little. Drop YOUR sleep tips in the comments below and GOOD. NIGHT.
